Introducing Encore Presents!

MHYT’s Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) program features performers ages 13 and up presenting shows for early elementary audiences. Productions tour to schools, libraries, and community spaces across Denver, bringing live theatre directly to young audiences.

With support from a director, the cast helps shape the whole show—making choices about costumes, props, set pieces, and more. It’s a creative, hands-on process where actors take real ownership of the work they bring to young audiences.

The Velveteen Rabbit Program
The Velveteen Rabbit by Janet Allard
“Once you are Real you can't become unreal again. It lasts for always.” A stuffed toy rabbit’s quest to become real through the love of a child drives this adaptation of Margery Williams’ timeless tale that celebrates the power of love to transform out lives. Join a boy and his rabbit in a world of strange and wonderful magic with talking toys, wild adventures, and secret burrows, as they come to discover the true meaning of what it is to be Real.
