As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in our second year of operation, we are continuing to serve our Denver community. We have created a safe, accessible, and welcoming place kids can go in the afternoons, and believe in offering programming to ALL kids while remove barriers that limit access to the arts.
Theatre teaches us to collaborate with others, how to solve problems, how to put ourselves in
someone else’s shoes, question systems or practices… and how to use our voices to address them!
The arts have a huge impact on youth development. We want our students to go out into their communities as leaders, whether they end up following a path in the arts or not.

enrich the lives of and empower Denver youth.

Stepping into 2026...
We’re at a pivotal point — and we can’t move forward alone.
When we opened our doors in 2023, we could never have imagined the extraordinary growth we would experience in such a short time. Some days it feels unbelievable that we are only in our third year of operation. Our programs, productions, and student community have expanded beyond anything we dreamed.

In 2025…

MHYT served 575 individual students across summer camps, classes, and theatrical productions.

Employed 3 staff members, along with 25 teaching artists and production contractors.

Opened seven productions, featuring ten unique casts of actors.

Launched our new Theatre for Young Audiences program, delivering nine free performances to 450 community members across the Denver metro area.

Awarded 42 individual scholarships, distributing $9,785 in financial assistance to support youth participation in our programs.

As public school educators, we have seen the powerful role that the arts play in youth development and social-emotional wellness firsthand. In a post-pandemic world, a safe and creative outlet for students is more needed than ever before.
MHYT is dedicated to the goal of "say yes!" so that no child is denied participation.
MHYT is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. As such, any donations made to MHYT are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. All contributions are greatly appreciated and help further our mission. EIN: 92-2883169
